Palermo is a city at the edge of Europe and at the center of the ancient world, a place where souk-like markets rub against baroque churches. Palermo, for millennia has been at the crossroads of civilizations and this is the reason why the city delivers a heady mix of Byzantine mosaics, Arabesque domes and frescoed cupolas. 2018 promises to be a very special year for the city, full of events and culture. In 2018, in fact, Palermo has been declared Italian Capital of Culture. As consequence is scheduled a full calendar of events, also in October. It is possible to find all the information visiting the dedicated web site:

Furthermore, the City of Palermo, is the host city of Manifesta 12 in 2018. Manifesta, is a nomadic European Contemporary Art Biennial. Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography. This includes innovations in curatorial practices, exhibition models and education. Each Manifesta biennial aims to investigate and reflect on emerging developments in contemporary art, set within a European context. In doing so, we present local, national and international audiences with new aspects and forms of artistic expression. All the details here, in the web site of the Biennal:
